Volunteers Needed
Interfaith Hospitality Network
Throughout the month of December
(Formerly Room at the Inn)
‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ [Matthew 25:40]
This year, there are some changes to our December hospitality program. In addition to it no longer being called “Room at the Inn,” there won’t be a need for overnight hosts, and our guests won’t be staying in our building. Instead, they’ll spend a second month at Jarrettown Methodist with folks from Supplee bringing meals, checking them in, and providing transportation.
Here are the three ways you can help. Note the paperwork requirements in the yellow block:
Drop off meals - Meals are only needed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You will have the option to either drop off the meal or also be the check-in person and stay and eat it with the guests.
Check-In Host - Someone needs to be there every evening to welcome the guests and make sure they’re settled before the host leaves. Our folks don’t need to stay overnight.
Transportation - We need drivers every morning and evening to transport the guests from the church to the Ambler Day Center and back.
To Volunteer you need to use the button below to sign up on the "Care Calendar." However, access to the calendar requires a code which we don’t want to publish on this website. You can find the code in the church bulletin which is also accessible through the weekly e-blast.
Paperwork is required:
All volunteers must be registered with Family Promise Montco, You can do that by completing this form.
Check in Hosts and Drivers must also have completed the Pennsylvania background checks and Child Abuse Clearances. It’s free for volunteers, and is good for five years. The paperwork must be provided to the church office.
In addition to both of the above, drivers must also have a PA driving record check. If you’re on the list of approved Supplee vehicle drivers, we already have this on file.
