A Study of Galatians - Sundays Following Worship - This Fall
Led by Russ Hensel and Jay Eibner
Are we Christians because of the way we live, or do we live the way we do because we’re Christians. That’s the essence of the age old question of works vs faith. It’s that question Paul addressed in his letter to the Galatians, and in doing so he provided many insights that can benefit us as much as they benefited the people in Galatia 2000 years ago.
As we study Galatians we’ll touch on all those points. Here are some examples:
Reconciliation with God brings freedom because it comes through faith in Christ, not by observing of a set of rules. (Gal. 3:25)
Through faith, all people, irrespective of economic status, race, ethnicity, or gender are invited into God’s family. (Gal. 3:28)
Our freedom in Christ doesn’t give us license to indulge our sinful nature. (Gal. 5:13)
Instead, our faith enables us to bear the spiritual fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23)
We reap what we sow, and the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Gal. 6:8)
Join us as we dig into this wonderful book and discuss its implications to us and our relationships with God and other people.
